The Jordanian Royal Geographical Center hosted the Jordanian expert in the US space agency, NASA, Engineer Ayman Kaddoumi, to present a lecture entitled “Discovery of Space in the Past, Present and Future”. The holding of such lectures within the activities of the College in support and increase the scientific and cultural knowledge of its students the importance of space science and astronomy in our time, because it is useful in various areas of life. At the beginning, the Dean of the College / Director General of the Geographical Center, Brigadier General Dr. Awni Al-Khasawneh, Secretary General of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy Sciences, welcomed the lecturer, noting his contribution to the discovery of space technology and major pilot projects in the field of aerospace and aviation. Middle east. Al-Khasawneh explained the diversity of its programs to increase the scientific and cultural aspects for the benefit of all students, where space science is one of them. Speaking at the beginning of his lecture on the history of space exploration, Kaddumi spoke at the beginning of his lecture about the history of space exploration since the launch of the first Sputnik 1 satellite by the Soviet Union in 1957, announcing the birth of the space age, and the launch of Sputnik 2, which carried the bitch Leica, . Kaddoumi reviewed US efforts in the field of space: the launch of the first American satellite “Explorer-1” in 1958, the birth of NASA, “Mercury” project, The surface of the moon. It also addressed a number of space projects and programs being prepared for operational use in space settlements and self-written ecosystems, including the current space-based Skylab spacecraft and vehicle launch systems, pointing to a number of research conducted by the Agency in aeronautics and space technology research applications and their application to Earth. Engineer Al Qaddoumi expressed his pleasure to visit the Faculty of the Center, praising the efforts of the College’s administration in providing students in the modern fields, especially the fields of space science and astronomy, organizing conferences and scientific seminars. The lecture, which was attended by senior officials, officers, employees, faculty students and faculty members at the Regional Center and the Center’s College, welcomed the audience and witnessed scientific discussions on the subject of the lecture. Al-Qaddoumi answered all the questions raised. At the end of the lecture, Brigadier General Al-Khasawneh presented the shield of the geographical center in honor of his valuable lecture.
